Dear Parents:
Working with your children is a joy! What impact they have upon us all.
One of my greatest pleasures is working with your children on an individual basis. Possibly, you've heard about Poet's Corner, located in my office. Any student who has written or memorized a poem may come and recite that poem to me. The reward for this is the satisfaction of having accomplished something difficult and the opportunity to sign the "real" door in Poet's Corner with a permanent blue marker! This requires concentration, hard work, and a bit of confidence on the part of your child. It is I who realize the greater benefit as I come to know your children.
At San Jose Episcopal Day School, we see your child as a child of God and as an individual. That's why we encourage the children to come into the office and share the wonderful things they have accomplished. We hope you, too, will visit often. I hope, always, to have open dialogue with you--and, if you want to recite a poem, you can sign the door right next to your child's name!
Again, I thank you for sharing your children and trusting them to our educational care. Our pledge to you is to teach, honor, and respect each one in a loving and nuturing Christian atmosphere.
In Christ,
The Reverend Jean Dodd
Head of School
