Six teams of fifth and sixth grade classes are embarking on an Amazing Race through China. Together with their teachers, they will complete challenges and follow clues to different places in order to earn points. The team that works close together, accurately, and enthusiastically will ultimately prevail.

REMEMBER:Your race coordinators will help you along the way and have the power to give and take away points due to extra credit or penalties incurred.

Your first challenge is a ROAD BLOCK: Only two members of your team may perform this task. Your race coordinator will give you a bowl of rice and/or noodles. Your chosen team member(s) are to eat the entire bowl with chopsticks. You will be timed. The team to complete the Roadblock in the least amount of time will receive 100 points. Second team: 80 points Third team: 60 points.

In order to continue to the next pitstop you will also need to complete the following challenge. At least one member from each team will have to play a round of ping pong, one of the popular sports in China. That team member will have to take a digital picture and e-mail it to Mrs. Tolisano (stolisano@sjeds.com) or bring a copy of the photo to school the next day to be handed to Mr. Barry. First team to send a picture will receive 100 points. Second team: 80 points Third team: 60 points.
