Some answers from Mrs. Freyer’s class:
He held those 2 feet up.
He has 80 feet so didn’t use those 2 feet.
It was a long centipede.
It floated on its back.
Answers from Mrs. Pickering’s class:
He lost two of his legs.
Mrs. Pickering’s class thinks:
A centipede has 2 feet on his head.
He lost 2 feet.
2 of his legs were used to steer while the others were used to paddle.
Nick thinks he stood like an animal, like a dog.
Tylar thinks he walked on only two legs like a handstand.
Speakman thinks he only put two legs on a bridge.
Abigail thinks he fell into the water.
Hannah thinks he stood in a puddle.
Jason thinks he used two legs to feel where he is going.
My class had a lot of interesting answers. We came up with the one we think is right. The two legs are his arms and he does not walk on them.
Great responses to the riddle.
Our tour guide told us that the reason why two of the centipedes feet did not get wet, is because the river was so smelly that he needed two of his feet to pinch his nose.
