Jose is missing!

Oh no!! JOSE IS MISSING!!!

We woke up to quite a shock this morning. Jose was not in his bed! There was a bright pink note pinned to his pillow. The note said:

Dear Mrs. Tolisano and Mrs. Menger,

Omar came to our room this morning. The two of you were sleeping so soundly, we did not want to wake you. Omar had a dreadful thing happen. When his family was leaving, in their haste, they did not realize that Omar was not with them. He missed the bus and is now separated from his family. He is afraid to go and look for them by himself. He is my new friend and I have to help him find his family. I am sure he would do the same for me. Omar knows where they are going next. They were planning to do some sightseeing. I can’t remember the name of the place where they are going, but it is west of Cairo, and it is one of the original seven wonders of the world. In fact, it is the only one that still exists today. I am sure you know the place. Don’t worry we will be careful and stay safe. Come and meet us. See you there!

Love, Jose

Now, we know that the only standing ancient wonder of the world is the Great Pyramid of Giza. We hope that we will find Jose and Omar there. Got to go!

    Questions from the 6th grade:
Mrs. M and Mrs. T, What will you do if Jose is not at Giza?
    How old is Omar?
What will you do if you can’t find Omar’s family? Will he get to come home with you to SJEDS?
    We miss you!

    Mrs. Freyer’s class,
We will keep looking for Jose until we find hime. No matter how long it takes. Omar and Jose happen to be the same age. The last e-mail communication we had with Jose was that they were fine and together with Omar’s family. They are taking good care of our SJEDS travel bear.
    Miss you too.
