| SJEDS PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION |
The San Jose Episcopal Day School Parents' Association is a non-profit association whose objectives are: |
- To advance the goals of San Jose Episcopal Day School.
- To develop and implement programs designed for the enrichment and economic growth of San Jose Episcopal Day School.
- To support a program of the highest standards of teaching and learning.
- To cultivate a spirit of cordiality among the parents of San Jose Episcopal Day School.

| All parents and guardians of students of San Jose Episcopal Day School are active members of the Parents' Association. An elected Executive Board and an appointed Board of Directors manage the affairs of the Parents’ Association. The Executive Board consists of a President, a Vice-President/President-Elect, a Vice President of Homeroom activities, a Vice-President of Resources and Publications, a Vice-President of Special Projects, a Recording Secretary, a Treasurer and a Historian. A member must have served at least one full school year on the Board of Directors of the Parents’ Association or as an active committee member to be eligible for election as an officer of the Parents’ Association. The Board of Directors is composed of the chairman and co-chairman (if applicable) of all standing and special committees. |
Each chairman reports the progress of her committee at a monthly meeting of the Parents’ Association.
The standing committees are as follows: |
- ALTAR GUILD
Volunteers set up and take down the altar every Wednesday morning for Eucharist.
- ART DAY
This committee organizes a day of enhancing art appreciation and awareness through demonstrations and hands-on activities.
- BOOK FAIR
This committee organizes a fundraiser that includes a new and used book sale, a raffle and a spaghetti dinner.
- NEW CLOTHING
This committee coordinates the sale of T-shirts, sweatshirts, ballcaps and backpacks throughout the year.
- GALA
This committee organizes a fundraising Gala/Auction each year.
- HOME ROOM PARENT
This committee consists of all homeroom parents. Its goal is to facilitate communication between the parent population and the Parents’ Association regarding classroom events and PA functions.
- HOSPITALITY
This committee prepares refreshments for the faculty once a month. They also provide food for PA special events.
- INSPIRATION
This committee is responsible for assisting with Parents’ Eucharist. The chairman provides inspirational readings at the opening of each Parents’ Association meeting.
- LUNCHROOM DIVAS
Assists the lunchroom staff.
- MEDIA
Volunteers to assist with library activities, including a spring Scholastic Book Fair.
- PARENT-TO-PARENT
These volunteers are committed to making new families at San Jose Episcopal feel welcome during their first year. They also provide an outreach to SJEDS families in crisis.
- 6TH GRADE IS SPECIAL
This committee is for the 6th grade parents who plan and organize special events and activities for the 6th grade students.
- SOCK HOP
This committee organizes a family social at the beginning of the year.
- SPRING FLING
This committee organizes a fundraising spring carnival.
- USED UNIFORM SALE
This committee coordinates the collection and sale of used uniforms.
- VISION SCREENING
This committee aids a Prevention Blindness representative in vision screening of all students.
- YEARBOOK
This committee types, copies, proofreads, aids in photography and assists with advertisements and distribution or yearbooks.
