The Master Acolyte program of SJEDS is open to all rising sixth graders. Throughout a student’s tenure at SJEDS, opportunities are provided to reach out to the community and give back to the school and church through various service projects. The Master Acolyte program is viewed as the pinnacle of service for students of SJEDS.
The desire of the program is that the individual draws closer to God, through the experience of being an integral part of the worship service. Responsibility, faithfulness, and love of God are traits that will be developed as a young person follows this path of service. There are three levels of achievement in the Master Acolyte program. Each level requires certain competencies to be completed. The level achieved is designated by cincture color. The Junior level wears a white cincture, the Middler level wears a green cincture, and the Master level wears a red cincture. All sixth graders are invited to be a part of the Master Acolyte program. |
